If you've received a postcard, text message, phone call, or seen a website saying:
"Sell your house fast!"
"We buy houses for cash!"
"No repairs needed!"
"Close in days!"
It's important to understand who you're dealing with ⚠️
These are not licensed realtors or real estate professionals representing your best interests. In many cases, they are investors or middlemen whose goal is to acquire properties at a price that allows them to make a profit.
While there can be situations where a cash offer makes sense, homeowners should understand that these companies are typically working for their own investment goals, not as fiduciaries advising you on all available options.
Many target:
▪️ seniors
▪️ inherited properties
▪️ homeowners facing financial hardship
▪️ people overwhelmed by repairs
▪️ families going through major life transitions
When you're under stress, it can be tempting to take the first offer that comes along. Unfortunately, that can sometimes mean selling for significantly less than the home's market value.
Before signing anything, ask questions:
✔️ Is this person a licensed real estate professional?
✔️ Have I compared this offer to what I could net on the open market?
✔️ Have I explored all my options?
Your home is likely one of your largest financial assets. Make sure you understand its value and all of your choices before making a decision.
If you ever receive one of these offers and want a second opinion, I'm always happy to help you evaluate it with no obligation. 🩷
