โ˜€๏ธ Weโ€™ve spent a lot of time at the library already this summer taking advantage of all the free activities, but last week we switched things up with a day trip to Fort Myers Beach!

We absolutely love the Pink Shell Beach Resort - Itโ€™s such an easy and fun day with the kids because you donโ€™t have to pack half your house to enjoy the beach ๐Ÿ˜‚ Chairs, towels, pools, restaurants, entertainment, and even a great ice cream selection for the little ones are all right there!

Day passes start at $25 for kids (ages 3โ€“12) and $50 for adults, with pricing varying by day.

As much as we don't want to think about death, it is inevitable. Some of the most important conversations we have with families have nothing to do with buying or selling a home. They have everything to do with making sure the people we love aren't left with a mess when we're gone.

We were getting ready to list the home with the help of the homeowner and his children.

Everything was moving along nicely until it wasn't.

The homeowner became seriously illand it led to a conversation most families don't think about until they're already in the middle of it.

The family had a Power of Attorney and a Will. But here's what many people don't realize:

The estate may still have to go through a court supervised process before the home can be sold or transferred and that can take months.

So we asked the hard questions. Not because selling was our priority, but because keeping this family protected was.

They didn't have a trust or any additional documents in place, so we put them in touch with the right people who helped them put a Lady Bird Deed in place. This allowed the homeowner to maintain control of the property during their lifetime while naming who would inherit it. In many situations, it can help a property avoid probate.
