I didn't go to the parade. I painted the office instead.
Seven months of winter Canes hockey sheep APRE Team finally got scraped off and replaced. We have some serious (and superstitious) fans in Fuquay-Varina ๐คฃ It's only weird if it doesn't work, right ?!?
I cheered with folks that drove by and hollered from their cars when they saw the window.

Old fans, new fans. It takes ALL OF US.
I thought about the parking crew that manages the chaos of cars. The sweet folks that shuttle us to our seats, prep food, and serve drinks. Photographers with a finger on a button and a hand on the ready to slide the safety glass closed. Family with their hearts in their throats through each period. Players and staff that put in thousands of hours.
I recently came across a 2013 ticket stub from a game on Valentine's Day. My kids were still small enough to sit in my lap. Same ages as some of the players kids now. Same ages as Anna's kids who are obsessed with the Canes. A whole new generation of players, hockey fans, and Caniacs in the making.
What a season, 20 years in the making. Thanks for the memories Canes ๐ซถ
