One of the biggest challenges in Real estate can be working with inexperience and unresponsive lenders.

Before you start looking at homes it’s important to speak with an agent and ask which lenders they have had positive experiences working with. 

The right lender can make the transaction go smoothly, while the wrong lender can unfortunately cause serious delays or even jeopardize a deal .

As agents we don’t always get to choose the lender’s that buyers and sellers work with. All we can do is stay on top of the process, communicate constantly, and make sure everyone involved is doing their part.

Recently, I had a situation where a buyers lender failed to properly qualify a buyer for a $300,000 loan. This created significant delays and stress for everyone involved. After many showings and setbacks, the seller ultimately became frustrated and decided to take the home off the market.

Situations like this are difficult because, even when it’s outside of an agents control, we still feel responsible for the outcome and for protecting our clients experience. This is why having a strong reliable lending team matters so much in Real Estate.
