Just received an email about a meeting tonight affecting Scott Co. farm stands:
Dear Producer,
The Planning and Zoning Commission has developed a new draft ordinance regarding farm stands used to sell farm goods.
The key points of the ordinance are:
If you have a farm stand, you're required to first give notice to P&Z.
The size of the farm stand would be limited to 600 square feet.
Also conversations have been had that would require any private sales of your farm production would have to be compliant with this ordinance.
To date, these requirements have not existed.
Possibly, this could include produce, hay, grain, livestock, horses, or any private sales of farm production anywhere in the county.
Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District will be holding a meeting Monday, August 31st at 7:00 pm at the 100 Penn Avenue office. Please attend to provide your opinion. If you cannot attend, please email [email protected] with your concerns and comments on the farm stand ordinance. This draft proposal has been delayed until the comments are provided from SCSWCD. We would love to include input from you.
