𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆

Did I go to the battlefield? 𝐘𝐞𝐬.

And that may be the most resounding 𝐘𝐄𝐒 I will ever give.

It was tough. I experienced hardships that are difficult to put into words.

They say that when you go to war, it can feel as though half of your body is already buried in the soil. There is uncertainty every day, especially when you're assigned to places where conflict is part of the reality.

𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐈 𝐚𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝? 𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞.

But I was also proud.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦.
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

And somewhere along the way, I learned something that would follow me long after the battlefield:

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Discipline kept me moving when things were difficult. Courage taught me to move forward even when the outcome wasn't guaranteed. And service taught me that what we build should have a purpose beyond ourselves.

Years later, I realized those lessons didn't have to stay in the military.

I could carry them into a completely different battlefield: 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Real estate came with a different kind of risk. I didn't start out knowing everything. I had to learn, make decisions, ask questions, and become comfortable being uncomfortable again.

But the courage and discipline I built through my time in the U.S. Air Force gave me the foundation to start.

And this time, what I was building could give me something I deeply valued:

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞.

That's one of the reasons I share my story today.

𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬.

You may leave the uniform behind, but you don't leave behind the discipline, leadership, resilience, and courage that were built into you.

Those qualities can become the foundation for your next mission.

For me, one of those missions became real estate.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝑨𝑰’𝒔 𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝑹𝑬 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔?

AI is changing a lot more than the tech industry.

It’s also changing how we analyze commercial real estate.

AI can't walk a property for you.
It can't negotiate with the seller.
And it definitely can't replace years of experience.

But it can help you 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Because in CRE, what you see from the outside is only part of the story.

The rest is buried in the data.

Rent rolls. Leases. Operating expenses. Market information. Financial statements. Historical performance. Hundreds of pages of documents.

𝐀𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Is it always right? No.

That's why I wouldn't let AI make the final decision.

I think of it more like having another set of eyes at the table.

AI brings the data.
Experience brings context.
Human judgment makes the decision.

As a broker and CRE investor, I'm excited about what happens when we combine technology with the discipline and experience we already have.

The goal isn't to let AI think for us.

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫.

And we're probably only scratching the surface of what it will eventually do for this industry.

𝑽𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒄𝒌 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒖𝒔?

Let’s face it! Most of us have probably looked at a paycheck at least once and wished someone had forgotten a few zeros. 😂

Military service can provide steady income, benefits, and a career path. But whether you earn $40,000, $80,000, or well into six figures over the course of your career, 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.

That’s the bigger conversation I want more veterans to have.

When I transitioned from the military into real estate, my mindset began to change.

Instead of only thinking about 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧, I started learning about 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐰𝐧.

𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔.
𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆.
𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔.
𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒉-𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒕𝒔.

Real estate isn't a shortcut, and every investment carries risk. But learning about it can open your mind to possibilities beyond relying solely on your next paycheck.

Veterans already bring valuable skills to the table: 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Those same qualities can be applied to investing.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒂 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚.”

You can learn a lot about a property before you ever open the financials.

Sometimes, you just need to look around.

A pile of trash like this may seem insignificant. But in real estate, the small things often point to bigger operational questions.

Is waste being removed regularly?
Are tenants following property rules?
Is management inspecting the property?
Are maintenance issues being addressed, or simply piling up?

When evaluating an investment, I’m not only looking at the purchase price, rents, cap rate, and projected returns.

I’m looking at 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝.

Because operational problems rarely appear overnight. They accumulate, one ignored issue at a time.

And sometimes, those problems can also reveal an opportunity.

A property with poor management doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad investment. With the right basis, business plan, and ex*****on, operational inefficiencies may be exactly where value can be created.

𝐈𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐭.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒇, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐.

Being on the battlefield, leaving your family behind, and risking your life for the safety of people you may never meet, there are few acts of service I respect more.

As a veteran myself, I understand that eventually there comes a day when the uniform comes off.

But that doesn't mean the mission has to end.

Real estate has become a major part of my life. I'm a broker, investor, entrepreneur, and mentor, but the 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.

That's why more of my efforts today are focused on helping veterans discover what's possible after military service.

A new career.
A new network.
Financial education.
Real estate and investing.
And most importantly, a new mission.

The discipline, leadership, resilience, and responsibility developed through military service don't disappear when someone transitions into civilian life.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭.

I served once in uniform.

Today, I want to continue serving in a different way, by helping fellow veterans build their next chapter.

𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒊𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓.

This photo is from one of our properties.

We had to dig this hole because there was work that needed to be done underneath. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't the part of the project anyone would show off.

But it was necessary.

And looking at this picture, I couldn't help but think about how similar that is to life.

From the outside, we see finished homes, successful businesses, strong relationships, and people who seem to have everything figured out.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟.

I've had plenty of them myself.

Transitioning from the military. Starting over in real estate. Building businesses. Raising a family. Making mistakes. Taking risks. Facing moments when I wasn't completely sure what came next.

Not everything was perfect.

And that's okay.

Because I've learned that a hole isn't always a sign that something is falling apart.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭.

In real estate, we don't ignore a weak foundation just because the surface looks good. We dig deeper, find the problem, do the hard work, and rebuild it correctly.

Life isn't much different.

Some seasons require us to tear things apart before we can put them back together better.

So when you see someone's finished product, remember:

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞.
𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭.

And maybe that's something worth being proud of too.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆.

Sometimes I look back at my younger self and wonder how I made it this far, in family, business, and life.

Then I look beside me, and a big part of the answer is right there.

𝐌𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞.

Beautiful inside and out, but more importantly, someone who believed in me during the years when there wasn't much evidence that she should. ❤️

My transition from the military into real estate was far from easy.

I didn't walk into this industry with a pile of money, an established business, or a guaranteed path to success.

There were years when the vision was much bigger than our bank account.

She could have looked at the uncertainty and said, “This isn't the life I signed up for.”

But she stayed.

Before the properties, before the businesses, before the deals and accomplishments, there were sacrifices, long days, difficult decisions, and plenty of uncertainty.

And she went through those seasons with me.

People often talk about choosing the right partner in business.

𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞.

The right person doesn't just celebrate with you when things are going well. They stand beside you when you're still trying to figure out how to make the dream work.

She didn't need me to already have everything.

She helped me believe we could build something together.

Today, when people see what I've built in real estate, they may see the broker, investor, veteran, entrepreneur, properties, and businesses.

What they don't always see is the woman who supported the man behind all of it.

So no, it doesn't need to be Mother's Day, an anniversary, or a special occasion for me to say this:

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐰. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞.

This real estate journey would not have been the same without you.

And after everything we've built, I'm still grateful that 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒚. 𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉. ❤️

𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒅𝒐.

This picture reminds me of that.

Real estate isn't always suits, meetings, contracts, and closing tables.

Sometimes it's rolling up your sleeves, grabbing a paint roller, fixing what needs fixing, and getting the property ready for what's next.

As a broker and investor, I've learned that the properties are only part of the business.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.

There will always be long days, difficult deals, unexpected problems, and moments when you wonder why you signed up for all of this. 😄

But having good people beside you makes those days a lot more bearable—and sometimes even fun.

That's something I've learned both in the military and in business:

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

So this Labor Day, I'm especially grateful for the people I've had the privilege of working alongside.

The ones who show up.
The ones who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.
The ones who can still smile in the middle of the work.

Because behind every property, every deal, and every successful business are people putting in the effort to make it happen.

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒚 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆.

As a mentor, CRE investor, broker, and veteran, I can't express how rewarding it is to see someone you've mentored start putting the principles into practice.

This is 𝐃𝐚𝐢, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬.

During this exercise, he started with:
→ $3,300 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞
→ $2,300 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬

Through discipline and paying down debt, he reduced his expenses to about $1,500 and built his savings to $27,340.

He also bought three investments during the exercise and realized that just 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 was enough to help him reach his target.

The strategy was simple:

𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬.

If your expenses are $1,570, the goal is to create around $1,600 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞.

Simple on paper.

But in real life, it takes discipline.

Control your expenses.
Reduce unnecessary debt.
Build savings.
Look for additional income.
Learn to recognize opportunities.
And when the right one comes, be prepared to act.

This may not look like some extravagant success story.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭.

Wealth doesn't always begin with a massive deal or a huge paycheck.

Sometimes it begins with understanding your numbers and making better decisions one at a time.

The military taught me discipline. Real estate taught me how powerful that discipline becomes when applied to money and investing.

And as a mentor, that's something I want to pass on.
