If you’ve never experienced the Indy 500….nothing can really prepare you. The ENERGY is absolutely insane.

Here are a few INSANE facts you might not know:
Roughly 1 in every 1,000 people in the US are there on race day.

On race day, the speedway’s crowd is so large that if it were classified as an actual city, its population would rank as 45th largest in the US.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway spans 559 acres. You could fit yankee Stadium, the Roman Colosseum, Vatican City, the White House, the Taj Mahal, and the Rose Bowl entirely inside the infield.

The average speed of the winning car during the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911 was 74.6 mph.

This year’s qualifying field average was 231.2 mph. The third fastest in Indy 500 history.

If you ever get a chance to experience the 500, I encourage you to go at least once!
