I added some diner paper placemats to the dining room wall. Zoom in on the race car on the Indiana mat. Notice on the Alabama mat that there are no Interstate highways. That tells us how old these are!

I remember driving to Florida to visit family before the Interstate Highway System was begun under the Eisenhower administration. It was crazy to take a long trip then! Some small towns set their speed limits to weird numbers like 27 or 33 to make money off “speeders” who were expecting normal numbers.
