Today, we pause to recognize Juneteenth and the significance it holds in our nation's history.
On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, delivering news that the Civil War had ended and enslaved people were free. That day became known as Juneteenth, a lasting symbol of freedom and progress.
We honor the history behind this day and the resilience, contributions, and achievements of those who helped shape the communities we call home.
