The Outer Banks has changed a lot over the years, but there are still certain things that make it feel like home.

The live oaks that have weathered countless storms.
The smell of salt air on a summer morning.
The sound of the ocean when the rest of the world feels too loud.
The familiar faces you run into at the grocery store, Lowe’s, and just about everywhere in between.

Maybe that’s why so many people come here for a week and spend years figuring out how to make it permanent.

These are a few of the things that still make the Outer Banks special to me.

Some houses just feel easy.

1710 Sea Swept sits tucked beneath the live oaks in the heart of Kill Devil Hills with the kind of vibe that reminds you why people fall in love with the Outer Banks in the first place.

Hardwood floors, a fenced backyard, updated kitchen and baths, and just a few blocks from one of my favorite soundside sunset spots in town.

Not overdone.
Not trying too hard.
Just a really solid OBX house with character.

And honestly… finding something this charming at this price point in KDH right now is getting harder to do.

There’s a reason people come to the Outer Banks for a week and spend the rest of their lives trying to get back here.

It’s more than the beaches and sunsets. It’s the deep rooted sense of community. The fresh local seafood. The fishing villages and generations of history. The wild beauty that still feels untouched in so many places.

Life moves a little differently here. A little more connected.

Sure, we deal with hurricanes, traffic, and salt air that destroys just about everything eventually. But somehow that only makes people love this place more.

The Outer Banks isn’t perfect. That’s part of what makes it special.

And for the people lucky enough to call it home… there’s really nowhere else like it.

Bronco Beach Bash 2026! 🌊🐎

Super cool getting to see over 300 Broncos of all ages lined up and cruising down the beach together this weekend. Everything from brand new builds to old school classics.

One of my favorite parts was seeing all the different generations together. And fun fact… Beulah, my ‘78 Bronco, was one of only TWO Gen 2 Broncos out there holding it down. 🤎

Honestly just a really good OBX weekend. Salt air, cool people, classic trucks, and a beach cruise that looked straight out of a Ford ad.

Today feels a little bittersweet. 🤍

I’m incredibly thankful to have spent the day with my mom, celebrating the kind of love only a mother can give. And at the same time, I’m missing my sweet Grammy more than words can explain.

Losing her has reminded me just how lucky I was to have such an amazing woman in my life for so long. She was full of love, warmth, charm, and the kind of joy that made people feel at home around her.

Both of these incredible women have shown me what true love really is, and I carry pieces of them with me every single day.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmothers, and mother figures out there today. Hold them close. 🤍 💐

I’m Haley Paige Winslow, Outer Banks born and raised.
Generations of fishermen, lighthouse keepers, and farmers shaped how I see this place, and how I represent it.

I didn’t just get into real estate to sell homes. I got into it to help people understand what makes this place so special, and how to buy into it the right way.
