The Outer Banks has changed a lot over the years, but there are still certain things that make it feel like home.
The live oaks that have weathered countless storms.
The smell of salt air on a summer morning.
The sound of the ocean when the rest of the world feels too loud.
The familiar faces you run into at the grocery store, Lowe’s, and just about everywhere in between.
Maybe that’s why so many people come here for a week and spend years figuring out how to make it permanent.
These are a few of the things that still make the Outer Banks special to me.
