What makes a good week?

Not always a big closing or a new farm listing.

Sometimes it is simply being reminded of what matters most: faith, family, health, and the people God has placed in your life.

This weekend, I am off with my sweet wife and the horses. I do not love horseback riding, but I love the cowgirl, so I am going to ride.

Not every real estate deal goes smoothly.

Sometimes the seller will not budge.
Sometimes the buyer gets frustrated.
Sometimes it feels like both sides are speaking two different languages.

But getting mad usually does not solve anything.

The job is to stay calm, get the facts on the table, and keep working toward a solution.

As an old friend from church used to say:

“Reasonable men, equally informed, rarely disagree.”

That is true in life, and it is especially true in real estate.

Everybody loves the exciting part of an auction.

The crowd.
The bidding.
The auctioneer saying, “Sold.”

But that's only HALF the work.

Buyer financing, title issues, survey questions, closing details — all of these things can make or break a transaction after the auction is over.

A property can sit on the market for a long time with little interest…

Then, the moment it goes under contract, buyers suddenly appear.

It happens all the time.

The important thing to remember is this: interest is not the same as ability. A serious buyer needs more than good intentions. They need the ability to close.

If you receive a good offer from a qualified buyer, don’t get distracted by people who show up after the fact.

Another successful Angel Flight today from the left seat of my airplane.

Yesterday’s flight came with wonderful news. Today’s flight was a little heavier.

My passenger was a single mom of four, headed back for chemo after working all day. Folks, there are people all around us who are hurting, and we all have a chance to do our part.

For me, sometimes that means flying. For you, it may be something completely different. But I would encourage you to find a way to help, because someday we may be the ones on the receiving end.

A Great Day to Fly

Today was an unexpected but meaningful flight to Rochester, Minnesota, helping almost a neighbor get to a kidney transplant consultation.

I love flying, and I love helping people — today I got to do both.

It’s a good reminder to thank the good Lord for your health. Not everyone has it, and it truly is a gift.
