Catholic Action Center

Catholic Action Center The mission of the center is to “fill in the gap” of services for our brothers and sisters in need. Welcome to our family!

The Catholic Action Center is a house of hospitality in Lexington, KY modeled on the Catholic Worker movement founded by Dorothy Day. Beginning in 2000, we now have several ministries to help "fill in the gap" of social services in our community. We are all volunteers and services are funded by private donations. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering or making a donation. Over th

e first 10 years, we served 2.9 million+ meals, distributed 4 million+ items of clothing, cleaned 36,500+ loads of laundry, made available 85,000 showers, sheltered 96,000+ on cold nights, and held 49 memorial services for those who died alone...all by 98,000+ volunteers from 187 communities of faith!
