When Your House Decides to Become a Seashell

Most houses have a front door.

This one looks like the snail already moved in. 😂

This is Casa Nautilus in Naucalpan, Mexico, designed by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain and completed in 2007. The entire home was inspired by the shape of a nautilus shell, with curved walls, a spiral layout, and almost zero interest in straight lines.

And the inside gets even crazier.

Instead of a typical hallway, you move through the house along a spiral path surrounded by plants, while colorful stained glass fills the space with changing light. Even the furniture was designed to flow with the curves of the house. 🌿🌈

Fun fact: the house was built using ferrocement, a flexible material that helped create all those unusual curves. The architect's goal was to make the home feel more like an organic environment than a traditional box-shaped house.

Imagine the real estate listing:

Bedrooms: Yes
Bathrooms: Yes
Straight walls: Absolutely not. 😂

And honestly, if someone called HOW Homebuyers and said,
“Hey, I have a house shaped like a giant seashell…”

We'd probably say:

“Okay… what's the address?” 🏠😂

Because when it comes to houses, HOW Homebuyers isn't afraid of a little weird. We buy the houses other people might not know what to do with.
