Georgia Hawley, Chief Communications Officer at The Midnight Mission, attended the CCA Connects luncheon with Assemblymember Sade Elhawary, representing California’s 57th Assembly District, which includes Downtown Los Angeles.

“I appreciate opportunities like this to come together with fellow community, nonprofit, and business leaders to talk about the issues affecting Downtown LA and the people who call it home. Thank you to Central City Association of Los Angeles for creating space for these important conversations and connections.”

At The Midnight Mission, we know that meaningful change happens when our community comes together, listens, and works toward solutions.

Eight women. One historic first. A legacy just beginning.

For the first time in The Midnight Mission’s history, eight women graduated from our Women’s Recovery Program.

Each photo captures more than a graduation. It represents courage, healing, perseverance, and the beginning of a new chapter.

The Clare E. Women’s Recovery Center was created as a place where women could find safety, support, and a path forward. Today, Clare’s legacy lives on through these eight women and every woman who will follow in their footsteps.

They are the first, but they will not be the last.

Help us continue building a legacy of recovery and hope for women in our community. Visit the link in our bio to support The Midnight Mission.

An evening like this is only possible because a community chooses to make it possible.

To the sponsors and donors who supported The Midnight Mission’s Golden Heart Awards, thank you.

Your generosity reaches far beyond one night. It helps provide meals, shelter, recovery, services, and opportunities for our neighbors working toward a new beginning.

Every gift represents someone saying, “You matter. Your future matters.”

We are deeply grateful to the sponsors whose generosity helped make this special evening possible, including Shelli & Judd Abrams and Family, The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, William Noonan Foundation, U.S. Bank, Dr. & Mrs. Jeffrey Litow, R. Stephen & Donna Doan, Century, Greg Day & Thomas Sells, Norman & Marlene Harris, Cathay Bank, Unified Protective Services, Stephanie & Brian Bezner, Orion Environmental, Meter, and SKC Solutions LLC.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping make hope, recovery, and new beginnings possible every day.

When community shows up, hope shows up with it.

A huge thank you to these incredible UCLA volunteers for spending their time serving alongside us at The Midnight Mission.

Every meal served, every helping hand, and every hour given makes a difference for our neighbors. We are grateful for young people who choose to step into their community and be part of the solution.

“I’ve been where you are.”

After 10 years of homelessness and addiction, Kyle Meek came to The Midnight Mission knowing one thing: the life he was living wasn’t working anymore.

Here, he found a safe place, recovery, support, and a new way forward.

Today, Kyle is an alumnus of our Recovery Program, Secretary of the 121 Alumni Association, and a Recovery Case Manager at The Midnight Mission. Now he gets to walk alongside others on the same journey someone once walked with him.

Recovery changes lives. And sometimes, the person who once needed help becomes the person helping someone else find their way.

Watch Kyle’s story and help us make more new beginnings possible.

Give. Volunteer. Be part of someone’s journey forward.

Meet Your Neighbor: Ken

Ken once served in the U.S. Navy, working in communications. Today, he has found a different kind of connection in Skid Row, building friendships with people he meets along the way, including Anthony, a security guard at The Midnight Mission.

Ken says he believes God has him in Skid Row for a reason. He sees his time here as a mission: an opportunity to share goodness, encourage others and bring a little light into the lives of the people around him.

His story is a reminder that every person we meet has something to offer. Sometimes purpose is found not in where we expected life to take us, but in how we choose to show up for the people right in front of us.
