Homes are selling faster, prices are climbing, and buyers are still stepping into the market.

May brought another positive shift for the Lubbock housing market. The median home price jumped more than $12,000 from April, reaching $249,925, while the average time on market dropped from 57 days to just 46 days.

For sellers, that means well-priced homes are attracting attention and moving more quickly. Strong buyer activity is helping support rising home values.

For buyers, inventory remains relatively balanced at 3.8 months, creating more options than we've seen in many recent years. The tradeoff is that desirable homes may not sit on the market for long, making preparation and timing increasingly important.

The biggest story this month? Higher prices and faster sales are happening at the same time—a sign that demand remains healthy as we move deeper into the summer market.
