Just like that, the sun is setting on August. 🌅 This month has been a beautiful whirlwind of family time, community festivals, and helping some wonderful clients take the next big step in their lives.

I spent a good chunk of my morning digging through regional grading maps and drainage plans for a rural property near Madison. My inner agricultural engineer was in absolute heaven! 🤓

When you're looking at buying a home—especially one with a bit of land—it's easy to fall in love with the layout or the modern finishes. But my farm-kid upbringing taught me to start from the dirt up. How does the water flow when we get a heavy Wisconsin downpour? Is the soil suited for what you want to build or plant? The Sun Prairie Sweet Corn Festival kicks off this week! Growing up in Sun Prairie, this was always one of the highlights of our year. There is nothing quite like the energy of our community coming together, eating local sweet corn, and catching up with old friends.
That sense of community is exactly why I’ve chosen to call this area home my entire life. When I help folks buy or sell a home, I know we aren't just trading keys—we are helping people plug into a neighborhood, a school district, and a community they can rely on.

After a whirlwind couple of weeks of handshakes, inspections, and getting some wonderful families across the closing finish line, Lisa and I are officially off the clock tonight. 🍽️
One of our favorite ways to unwind is jumping in the car and finding a new-to-us, unique dinner spot somewhere in Dane County. We are incredibly lucky around here—whether it’s a farm-to-table gem downtown or a cozy, historic tavern tucked away in one of our smaller communities, our local food scene has so much heart.

To me, a great local restaurant is a lot like a great home: it has its own unique character, it brings the community together, and the moment you step through the door, you just feel welcome.

The Wisconsin State Fair kicked off yesterday, and it always brings back so many memories of growing up on our Sun Prairie dairy farm. Between showing livestock and helping out, fair season was always the marker that summer was peaking and fall was just around the corner.

We’ve officially hit the "dog days of summer," and nobody is taking that more literally than our Golden Retriever, Sadie Mae. 🐾

Lately, her favorite daily routine is finding the exact spot on the floor where the central air hits just right.
If you’ve been touring homes lately in this August heat, you know exactly how she feels. A house can have the most beautiful kitchen in Dane County, but if the AC is struggling, that's all you're going to think about! When I’m walking through properties with my clients, I make it a point to check the age and health of those big mechanicals.
