This is a hot button topic…

It’s the thing every single person messages me about when they’re thinking about moving to Arizona.

ā€œWill there even BE water in Arizona in 10 years?ā€

This news matters if you’re considering a move here.

Arizona, California, and Nevada just reached a historic agreement to protect the Colorado River. Here’s what you actually need to know:

āœ… The three states agreed to cut water use by 3.2+ million acre-feet through 2028

āœ… It’s being called a ā€œbridge,ā€ meaning immediate stability for Lake Mead and Lake Powell.

āœ… 40 million people rely on this river. This protects them AND the economies they support.

āœ… California is taking the biggest cut (about 13%), while Arizona and Nevada continue their long history of conservation

āœ… It replaces the harsher, lopsided cuts the federal government had previously aimed at Arizona

Here’s my honest take as someone raising my family here:

The fear about water keeps a LOT of people stuck. They love everything about Arizona, the sunshine, the lifestyle, the scenery, but they freeze on this one question.

What I love about this agreement is that it shows the people in charge aren’t waiting around for a crisis. They’re planning ahead, working together, and protecting the future of a state that 40 million of us depend on.

Arizona isn’t running out of water tomorrow. We’re one of the most proactive states in the country when it comes to managing it.

Is this the only thing keeping you from making the move? Let’s talk about it. The real answers are usually way less scary than the fears and the click-bait out there.

šŸŽ¤ DROP.

Arizona isn’t just where your family might live. It’s where your kids might build their entire future. And most people relocating here don’t even think that far ahead.

WalletHub just dropped the 30 best college towns in America and THREE of them are in Arizona.

Tempe ranked #6 in the entire country. Phoenix came in at #12. Scottsdale landed at #13.

As a former Scottsdale Community College Artichoke and ASU Sun Devil who spent some really fun years in Tempe and Scottsdale, I can tell you… this doesn’t surprise me at all. šŸ˜‰

Tempe beat out Atlanta, Reno, Charlottesville, and even Yale’s hometown of New Haven. Let that sink in.

Here’s why this matters if Arizona is on your radar:

Tempe ranked top 10 for academic and economic opportunities.

Translation? The jobs are here. The internships are here. Big companies are planting roots here.

Scottsdale earned its spot for quality of life, lower student density, and that laid-back desert luxury vibe people move here for.

Phoenix ranked high because of ASU Downtown, Grand Canyon University, and a job market that keeps attracting young professionals.

And this is the part relocators miss all the time…

The East Valley isn’t just retirees and snowbirds anymore. It’s young families. Professionals. College grads staying after graduation. Parents intentionally choosing Arizona because of the universities, not despite them.

And financially? This is huge.

Families in California, Seattle, and the Midwest are paying $40K-$60K a year to send kids out of state. Meanwhile Arizona families are getting in-state tuition in one of the top-ranked college regions in America.

That’s generational money.

If you’re raising kids and thinking long-term about schools, careers, and opportunity, Arizona is quietly outperforming places everyone else keeps hyping.

Comment AZ BOUND and I’ll send you my Arizona Relocation Guide with East Valley city breakdowns, neighborhoods, and local insight.
