🎶 DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’ 🎶
And you DO NOT want to miss the “New House Dance!” 💃🕺🏡 This little fellow will make anyone want to have more children. ❤️ That excitement right there is what a New Beginning is all about!
I absolutely adore this sweet family, and seeing those smiles this morning made every bit of the journey worth it. They are officially the proud owners of the most adorable cottage, and I couldn’t be more excited for all the memories they are going to make there!
Today’s closing is also the perfect example of teamwork, patience and believing that we were going to get this one to the closing table!
I always try to make buying and selling a home look easy. My goal is to handle as much as I can behind the scenes so my clients don’t have to carry the stress. Unexpected surprises are not uncommon in real estate—but OH MY, the delays and circumstances completely outside of our control just kept coming with this one! 😅
But here’s what made all the difference: everyone was working toward the exact same goal.
The Buyers.
The Sellers.
The Seller’s Agent.
The Title Company.
And me.
Nobody gave up. Nobody lost sight of the finish line. We worked together, kept communicating, kept pushing forward and—look what happened this morning! We CLOSED! 🔑🏡
Sometimes getting to the closing table takes a whole team, a little extra patience and a whole lot of “Don’t Stop Believin’!” 🎶

🏡 ANOTHER YOUNG HOMEOWNER! 🔑
From closing with my 22-year-old nephew yesterday to celebrating this 21-year-old smart, hardworking fella this week… I have to say, these young adults are making me proud!
Blade has worked hard, made wise financial choices, and sacrificed to put himself in the position to purchase his very first home at only 21 years old. Think about that for a minute—what were you doing at 21? Not many people can say they were sitting at a closing table buying their first home. 👏
Every real estate transaction has its hurdles. Most of the time, my clients never even know about half of them because I try to work through the problem and find a solution before I call and tell them we have a problem. 😂 My goal is always to make the process as low-stress as possible.
Well… this transaction didn’t exactly cooperate with that plan. 🤦‍♀️ There were a few hiccups Blade definitely knew about, but through every one of them, he remained patient, calm, understanding and, most importantly, always so kind to me. That says a lot about a person—especially at 21.

Yesterday was a VERY special closing day. ❤️🏡
My nephew, Dylan VanHook, turned 22 last Saturday—and now, at just 22 years old, he is officially a HOMEOWNER!
But this closing is super special.
Dylan is the son I never had. He and Scarlett, my daughter, are only about six months apart, so I have had the privilege of watching the two of them grow up together. And Dylan knows without a doubt that he has his Aunt Devin’s heart. ❤️
He is such an incredible person. He loves his family, he loves his friends, and watching him and Scarlett grow from babies into the young adults they are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
And somehow… here we are. Dylan has purchased his FIRST HOME. 🥹
I was incredibly blessed to be the REALTOR® who got to help him through this New Beginning, but what made me even prouder was watching the way he handled it. He asked great questions. He paid attention. He knew what he wanted. He listened, learned and made his own decisions. He handled a very grown-up purchase like the adult he has become—even if Aunt Devin is still trying to figure out how these kids grew up so fast!
And just like his parents, Dylan understood early that homeownership can be an important part of building future wealth.
Dylan, I am SO incredibly proud of you—not just because you bought your first home at 22, but because of the young man you have become. I hope this home is filled with friends, family, laughter, memories and all the things that make a house truly feel like HOME.

As a college senior, I had been up late the night of Monday September 10, 2001, before working on a project for my senior marketing class. The next morning, my mom woke me and said, “A plane has hit the World Trade Center.” Seventeen minutes later, she rushed back into my room and said, “This was no accident. This is a terrorist attack.” We sat is complete shocked as we watched both of the towers fall.

That was the moment I truly understood that freedom is not free—and its price is never paid in full.
