Itās taken me a couple weeks to write this because if you know meā¦ you know how close I am to my boys. So if youāre at Costco, feel free to grab me some Kleenex š¤
Paxton is heading back to his hometown to play 18U AAA with HoneyBaked Hockey next season. Completely unexpected- and Iāll never forget getting that text from him at a combine saying he had multiple tenders from junior teams all over the country. Yesā¦ I absolutely screamed and cried in the middle of Magic Kingdom.
After doing his (very detailed) research, he knew this was the right fit - surrounded by family, friends, and a place to keep growing.
We couldnāt be more proudā¦ but wow, the house is going to feel different without the constant Xbox noise and pucks flying in the garage. This is a huge step, and heās earned every bit of it.
For the parents heading into tryouts next weekāchasing the āAāā¦ chase the coach. The politics are real. Paxton only played four years of travel (starting at the bottom of 14U because they needed players), and the right coaching made all the difference. His grit and drive to always get better is what got him these offersānot worrying about what letter team he was on.
So proud of what Dave and his 16U team builtāundefeated their first year and fewer than five losses in 60+ games last season. The work these boys put in is incredible, and itās showing with the opportunities theyāre earning and contracts being signed this week.
