If it feels wrong, it is wrong. 🗣️

As parents, we are our children’s biggest advocates. Our journey with our twice-exceptional (2e) son led us to Blacklick Elementary, and it changed everything.

Huge thanks to Principal Groves and Intervention Specialist Koontz for proving that with the right Autism Unit and gifted supports, our kids can thrive!

🌟Did you know?
* Just under 3% of gifted students in Gahanna-Jefferson also have a disability. The district uses Written Education Plans (WEP) to support giftedness.

From Havens Corners to Mifflin Township, this district is full of history and heart.

Did you know a world-famous Christmas song was written by an Underground Railroad conductor in our own backyard? 🎶

The Hanby House in Westerville isn't just a charming white frame house on Main Street—it was a secret "station" on the road to freedom. While Bishop William Hanby provided the shelter, his son Benjamin acted as a late-night scout, guiding freedom seekers toward the next safe harbor. 🕯️

It was these very experiences that inspired Benjamin to write "Darling Nelly Gray," a song that humanized the struggle for millions across the country.

Next time you’re walking through Uptown Westerville, take a moment to look at those green shutters and remember the quiet footsteps of history.

We are so grateful to The New Albany Plain Township Historical Society for helping preserve the stories of families like the Orems.

🕵️‍♂️ I’ve been diving into the archives... and found some incredible New Albany history!

Long before I became interested in Real Estate, my ancestors, the Orem family, were a fixture of this community. I just posted a deep dive into our family archives—including stories of a 1911 "Bucket Brigade" that saved the town and two kids who walked 16 miles just to see their favorite horses! 🐎🏡

A huge shout out to the ancestors of Plain Township Fire Department and the local 'Bucket Brigade' who saved our town center back in 1911!

New Albany has always been built on grit and neighborly spirit. It’s an honor to be part of that story today.

🧐 Did you know New Albany was originally called "Hope"? Before the iconic white fences and Georgian architecture, our community was a tiny frontier settlement platted in 1837. It’s hard to believe that as late as 1980, the village had only 414 residents! 🏡✨

From 18th-century farmland to the visionary planned community we love today, the history of New Albany is a masterclass in intentional growth. We’re diving deep into the roots of our hometown in our latest blog post.
