There's a new trail running challenge in town! Our good friends at The Running Shop are sponsoring the Southern Arizona 50k Trifecta! This is the sister series to what we're once again proud to be sponsoring, the Southern Arizona Triple 50 for 2026/2027. The Triple 50 is an opportunity for trail runners to tackle the Colossal Vail 50/50 Arizona Trail Run 50 miler, AZT Oracle Rumble 50M, 50K, HM & 12K Trail Runs 50 miler, and the Old Pueblo Endurance Runs 50 miler in one season. However, for those not quite ready for such a big challenge or wanting a little break from the Triple 50, the Southern Arizona 50k Trifecta is a great opportunity. Created by popular demand, the Southern Arizona 50K Trifecta is a unique challenge for runners looking to finish all three of southern Arizona’s greatest 50K trail running events in a single season:

– Colossal Vail 50K on December 5, 2026 in Vail, AZ
– AZT Oracle Rumble 50K on January 30, 2027 in Oracle, AZ
– Old Pueblo 50K on March 6, 2027 in Sonoita, AZ

This is a ‘sister series’ to the already well-established and coveted Southern Arizona Triple 50, where runners complete all three 50 Mile distances at the same three events.

In addition to the great experiences and event swag you’ll receive at each ultra, completing all three 50Ks within the posted cutoff times will earn you a custom running hat and a gift certificate for The Running Shop to celebrate your incredible accomplishment!

You will also be invited to the Awards Fiesta at Three Canyon Beer & Wine Garden in April, where we will announce your cumulative time for all three events, with awards to the fastest overall male and female runners. If you attend the Fiesta, you will be given two complimentary drink tickets.
