Bethesda Project Bethesda Project provides emergency shelter, housing, and supportive services.

Bethesda Project provides a caring and compassionate family to Philadelphia's most vulnerable -- individuals experiencing homelessness. Since its inception in 1979, the non-profit organization has grown to include emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing and low-income independent housing at 16 sites throughout Center City serving individuals experiencing homelessness.

July was Social Wellness Month, designed to highlight the importance of strengthening relationships, building supportive social networks, and enhancing overall well-being.

In recognition of this, Bethesda Project’s Leadership Team came together to learn more about social wellness during a Human Resources-led session. Staff celebrated one thing each site currently does to embrace social wellness, with examples including: hosting monthly morning meetings where new staff and guests are introduced, group Bingo, and forming activities committees.

Thank you to our Young Professionals Advisory Board for making it the most wonderful time of the year, even in July! YPAB hosted a Christmas-in-July event at our North Broad site this weekend, featuring tree decorating, crafts, and sweets.

Bethesda Project's Young Professionals Advisory Board (YPAB) is a diverse group of young professionals in the greater Philadelphia area that works to increase awareness of homelessness throughout the community, raise funds for Bethesda Project through a variety of efforts, and volunteer in different capacities across the organization.
