🍷✨ Celebrating our bride-to-be, Angie! 💍🥂

We headed to Cave B for the perfect bachelorette getaway, and this place seriously delivered. 😍 Gorgeous views, amazing wine, and somehow during our tasting we even ended up meeting the owners! 🍇🍷

We attempted to be classy ladies with a beautiful dinner at Tendrils Restaurant 🍽️😂… although the bride-to-be may or may not have missed dinner entirely. 👰‍♀️🤣

We ended the night under the stars ✨🌙 with lots of laughs, memories, and—of course—a few bachelorette shenanigans that probably don’t need to make it onto Instagram. 😜🍾

🌿 THE PLANT STAND IS RESTOCKED! 🌿

I’ve been busy soaking up summer ☀️, so it’s been a minute since I gave the plant stand a proper restock—but I made up for it! 😂🪴

It is BURSTING with plants right now! 🌱🌱🌱

The price of food insecurity should never be the loss of dignity. ❤️

CEO Stacey Crnich recently visited the Puyallup City Council to request funding for an additional food locker. currently does not offer after-hours pickup, and GoodRoots NW is trying to help fill that gap. Their existing locker at Pierce College is already at capacity.

What I witnessed during that discussion made me sad—but it also inspired me to write this post.

For too long, food assistance has been built around the convenience of the system instead of the needs of the people using it.

📝 Answer these questions.
❓ Prove that you need help.

But people experiencing food insecurity also have jobs, children, transportation barriers and lives that do not fit neatly into traditional food-bank hours.

We also need to stop assuming first that a system will be abused. The number of people who genuinely need help is far greater than the number trying to take advantage of it.

While watching the Puyallup City Council discussion, I saw a much larger issue: how programmed we are to protect existing systems, question new approaches and treat innovation like competition.

The people involved may not even realize they are doing it. That is exactly why these conversations matter.

Traditional food banks do important work, but no organization owns hunger relief. 🤝

What a week! I'm feeling all the feels after celebrating 4th of July with friends from Shanghai and family. We did all the things.....

✅Jumped off a log
✅ Went kayaking
✅Made s'mores at the fire

Now at home enjoying a fire, fabulous bottle of wine and Thai food in my favorite place with my favorite person❤️

I finally made it to Port Townsend... and I can't believe it took me this long. ❤️

Last weekend I met up with my parents to stay at their friends' beautiful home overlooking the water, and from the moment I arrived it felt a little magical.

Within minutes of getting there I was greeted by something I'd never experienced before... orcas playing in the bay. 🐋 Seeing them in the wild for the very first time is something I'll never forget.

The weekend only got better. I cooked a belated Father's Day dinner for my dad, watched one of the most breathtaking sunsets I've ever seen, wandered through downtown Port Townsend with my parents, drank amazing coffee, and somehow managed to find way too many cute little shops.

Before heading home, we stopped at Fort Worden for one last walk along the beach.

As we were walking, I noticed my dad picking up a few perfect skipping rocks and heading toward the water. A sweet older woman nearby noticed as well, she smiled and asked,

"Would you like a wish?"

Of course we said yes.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of smooth gray rocks with beautiful white rings running through them. She explained that each white ring represented one wish. We were to make our wish, toss the rock over our shoulder into the ocean, and trust that maybe... just maybe... it would find its way.

She shared stories of wishes that had come true over the years. I asked if I could take her picture, and after a little hesitation she smiled and agreed. Then she asked if I would email it to her for the book she's writing.

When I asked her name, she simply said,

"Around here they call me the Wish Rock Lady." 🤍

It was one of those unexpected conversations with a complete stranger that reminds you how much kindness still exists in the world. Those moments seem so rare these days, which made it all the more special.

I drove home with a full heart, a pocket full of memories... and a quiet hope that maybe my wish finds it's way also✨

I took my first long walk this morning since surgery.

I didn’t really want to go… but I’m so glad I did.

On my way back, I passed a bus stop full of excited kids waiting for their bus. I said good morning to the moms and dads as I walked by, and just as I kept going, I heard a little voice ask:

“Do you want a sticker?”

I turned around and saw the cutest little girl in a yellow jumper excitedly pulling out her sticker pad.

“Of course I want a sticker. You pick!”

As she carefully looked through her stickers, I asked her name.

“Payton,” she said in the bubbliest little voice.

Then she peeled off a sunshine sticker and said, “I’m giving you a sunshine so you will have a bright day.”

I seriously could have cried.

Instead, I thanked her, and she bounced off with her friends yelling, “Have a great day!”

So today, let’s all be a little more like Payton.

Give someone a little sunshine. You never know how much they might need it. ☀️

PLEASE — waste my time. 😉

One of the things I hear most often from clients is:

“I don’t want to waste your time.”

And I’m here to lovingly tell you… you are not.

My job is to show you houses so you can figure out what you actually like, what you don’t like, what matters to you, and what absolutely does not.

My job is also answering the random questions, recommending contractors, talking through repairs, helping you understand the market, and being a resource long before you are ready to buy or sell.

So much of real estate is front-loaded. People feel bad about that, but I got into this business knowing exactly how it works. I don’t get paid until a transaction closes, but it is truly my pleasure to help you figure out what is best for you — even if that doesn’t end in a sale.

You don’t know what you don’t know.

And a big part of my job is helping you navigate that.

So send me the house. Ask the question. Wonder out loud. Be curious.

You are not wasting my time.

➡️ Warning-long personal post here ⬇️

I’ve debated sharing this, but if it helps even one woman feel less alone or push for better answers, it’s worth it.

For years, I have suffered with horrible periods and cramping. About five years ago, I saw a specialist who I truly thought was an angel. He recommended an ablation, and at the time, I thought it was amazing… until it wasn’t.

About eight months ago, I started having cramping again, which was unusual. I made an appointment with my regular doctor, had an ultrasound, was given medication, and my bloodwork came back normal. The ultrasound looked “normal” too. But every month, the pain kept getting worse.

It got to the point where I was exhausted and in pain most days. I couldn’t fully do my job, be present for my family, or feel like myself. I started doing my own research because what I was getting from my doctor just wasn’t helping.

Then, somehow, I was referred to Dr. Annika Malmberg — who truly is an angel.

I had my first appointment with her on May 7. She listened intently, validated my pain immediately, and finally gave me a word for what I had been experiencing: adenomyosis.

I’ve been seeing doctors for almost 10 years about this pain, and not one had ever mentioned that to me.

She also told me she doesn’t love ablations because they can cover up the real problem and, in many cases, make things worse. Which hit me hard… because I had been telling everyone who would listen to get one.

She said she would squeeze me in for a hysterectomy as soon as she could. I just didn’t realize how soon. One week later, on May 15, I was in the operating room.

I’m now home recovering and being doted on by my wonderful husband, kids, family, and friends. I am so incredibly grateful and so looking forward to finally feeling better. My only regret is that I didn’t find her sooner.

Please, please, please — if you are having pain, see a specialist. Not just your regular doctor. And get a second opinion if something still doesn’t feel right.

I feel like this last year I lost myself in fatigue and pain, and I am so excited to feel normal again.
