WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY:

Helping precious families sell their childhood homes is both emotional and difficult. Years of memories are tied to these homes, from raising children and grandchildren to moments like sitting in your grandfather’s wood shop as he makes Christmas ornaments, which you get to paint, and watching your own children run around the yard. Today was closing day for chapters in these families’ lives that were both joyous and challenging. Saying goodbye to generational homes of loved ones who are now gone is never easy. I had the honor to represent these families during this time and walk this journey with them. I was able to bring the buyer to both transactions, and these homes sold before ever hitting the public market.

One sweet family I’ve known since she was a little girl in grade school; I’m thankful she asked me again to represent them in this sale, allowing them to pay off their home(that I helped them find just a few years ago)—a remarkable accomplishment for a 31-year-old. The other family has also been precious friends for many years; Marty and Merrimac catered our daughter’s wedding reception. Being asked to handle their real estate needs was a true honor. Congratulations to both families and cheers to the next chapter. May you take those memories and traditions into your own homes and celebrate.

On this Memorial Day, I am profoundly thankful for the freedom we enjoy and blessed to live in a country where liberty is cherished. I am filled with pride to be an American, recognizing the immense sacrifices made by countless brave men and women to protect our way of life. As I spend this week at the beach with my family, I am especially grateful for the moments of joy and peace that their dedication has afforded us. Their courage and commitment allow us to create cherished memories, and for that, we owe them our deepest gratitude.

Starting the Memorial Day weekend saying thank you:

I knew her when she was a young child, as I taught with her mom at the local elementary school. Her husband has been serving in the military, and they have been moving around with their two young children, far from family and friends. For years, they diligently saved their money. He has just completed his military duty, and TODAY they CLOSED on their purchase of over 32 acres of the most beautiful land to build their dream home on. Today, as we closed on their land, the excitement was palpable—her eyes literally sparkled with it. Seeing this sweet couple, with their dreams finally coming to fruition after planning from afar while he was stationed in various places, fills me with immense joy. This Memorial Day weekend, I cannot think of a better way to honor those who fought and died in our military. It has been an honor to work with this precious family. Thank you, Price family, for allowing me to be a part of your next chapter. Thank you Landon Price for serving and protecting our freedom! Proud to be an American! 🇺🇸

TUESDAY TIDBIT:

Just finishing the book, “The Seven Year Slip”, by Ashley Poston - The Seven Year Slip is a romance novel with a side of magical realism. After losing her aunt, Clementine moves into the apartment she inherited and realizes that she is not alone. In fact, there is a man staying at the apartment for the summer as her aunt arranged… seven years ago.

Take aways from this book: we often meet the right people, maybe just at the wrong time - people grow and change throughout the years - we may also meet those same people again at the right time later in life - it also shines a different light on mental health as well -

Quotes I LOVED in the book: “She did not want us to see the monster on her shoulder, so she hid it, when she finally took the monster’s hand, it broke our hearts”. “Grief can find you in the middle of the night when you roll over to go back to sleep. It can even find you in your dreams”. “The love stays, the love always stays”.

This book was more than a rom-com book, it had a depth about it. Great read, kept you engaged and made you think afterwards. Highly recommend. If you are reading for pleasure or professionally, drop a comment about it. Would love to add it to my growing list!

Our pool is open and ready to welcome the beautiful summer weather, with sunshine-filled days and no school on the horizon. FRIENDS DON’T LIE! Eleven

Local fans of the hit Netflix television show “Stranger Things” are eagerly anticipating the show’s upcoming season, especially since work is being done on Rome’s famous “Stranger Things House” in preparation for filming.

It appears filming for season five of the show will again take place in Rome at the end of May and beginning of June.

The award-winning show has garnered a massive following. After a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl.

Called the “Creel House” in the show, the iconic Victorian style home, formerly the Claremont House, located at 906 E. Second Ave., was the backdrop for the show’s fourth season, with flashbacks of the home in pristine condition in the ’50s mixed with the show’s main characters poking around in it in the ’80s, when the show is set, at which point the home is seen in a state of disrepair.
When filming wrapped up last year, the home’s exterior was repainted and it was sold in a much-publicized deal thanks to its fame from the show.

But recently, locals have seen crews working on the house, once again painting it to suit the needs of the show.

It’s caused quite a buzz as many Rome residents are awaiting not just the show itself, with scenes shot in their hometown, but also the attention Rome gets for being a filming location for the popular show. By: Severo Aliva - Rome News Tribune
