Our team recently completed the demolition of a 170,000 SF industrial facility in Inver Grove Heights, clearing the way for future redevelopment on an accelerated schedule.

What made this project especially unique was the structure itself. The single-story facility was built with precast wall panels, beams, columns, and a double-T roof system, all designed to support the extreme weight of large industrial printing presses. The foundation system featured oversized 11 FT x 11 FT column pads and massive reinforced concrete slabs reaching up to 60 feet long and nearly 5 feet thick.

To meet the tight timeline, the team coordinated interior removals while simultaneously preparing for full mechanical demolition, ultimately deploying six excavators on site to keep production moving and material processing on pace. Specialized hammer attachments were also brought in to break apart the exceptionally heavy concrete foundations and press slabs.

Because of the project’s close proximity to the South St. Paul Airport runway, the team worked closely with airport personnel throughout demolition to maintain communication and coordinate operations safely and efficiently.

Strong planning, adaptability, and teamwork helped bring this challenging demolition project from start to finish in less than two months. Great work by everyone involved.

Getting out in the field and seeing the work first-hand is always time well spent.

Last week, members of Frattalone's accounting, admin, intern, and project management teams toured the Community Solar Garden project in Cottage Grove, MN, currently underway for Knobelsdorff - KE and US Solar.

The team had the opportunity to see pile installation for the solar arrays and installation of the stormwater pond liner while learning more about the civil construction work happening onsite, including access roads, grading, stormwater infrastructure, and laydown yard development.

A big thank you to Scott A. Spisak and Jack Arneson for leading the tour and giving the team a closer look at the work moving this project forward. 🙌🏼

Happy National Pizza Party Day! 🍕

Today we’re recognizing the crews out in the field across our demolition, earthwork, energy, and utility teams who keep our projects moving forward every day. The early mornings, problem solving, teamwork, and pride in the work do not go unnoticed.

At Frattalone, you’re more than coworkers — you’re family. We’re grateful for your hard work and dedication, and a little pizza is the least we can do to say thank you.

At Frattalone, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s our culture.

We recently brought together 200+ team members for our annual Spring Safety Meeting, taking time to pause field operations and focus on what matters most: our people.

The day was built around education, awareness, and hands-on training, including:
- Mental health and su***de awareness training
- Crisis management and safety planning
- Utility damage prevention with industry partners
- Company updates, expectations, and field leadership alignment
- Breakout sessions covering equipment safety, GPS training, DOT regulations, and more

From morning stretch to breakout sessions, every part of the day reinforced a shared commitment: everyone goes home safe and healthy—every task, every day.

We’re proud of the time our team invests in safety, and even more proud of the culture that continues to set the standard across our company and projects.

Every great project starts below the surface.

During National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to recognize the crews at Frattalone who are building the next generation of operators, laborers, and leaders—right here in the field.

In earthwork, there’s no shortcut to doing it right. You learn by being out there—reading grade, running equipment, and working alongside people who take pride in the craft. That’s where apprenticeship makes the difference.

It’s not just about learning how to move dirt—it’s about understanding what’s beneath it, why it matters, and how your work sets the foundation for everything that follows. Strong crews don’t just build projects—they build people.

To our field leaders—thank you for investing your time, knowledge, and leadership to help build the next generation of builders.

And to our apprentices—thank you for your commitment to learning, growing, and taking pride in the work we deliver.

Hard hats came in smaller sizes yesterday...

We loved seeing the next generation on site for Bring Your Kid to Work Day! From curious questions to big smiles, it was a great reminder of why we do what we do.

While the activities may have looked a little different across teams, one thing was consistent—creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for kids to get a glimpse into the world of construction and the people behind it.

Moments like these help build connection, spark curiosity, and maybe even inspire a few future builders.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day special!

Today, our team spent time helping clean up Country Drive in Little Canada. It was a beautiful day to get together to make a small but meaningful impact on the environment.

We’re proud of our team for showing up, rolling up their sleeves, and taking action to help keep our community clean. It’s moments like these that remind us how important it is to care for the places we live and work.

Thank you to everyone who participated—and happy Earth Day! 🌱♻️

We’re proud to spotlight one of the rising talents at Frattalone—our Preconstruction/Marketing Intern, Cate Zack.

From supporting our recent rebrand to contributing to proposal development, Cate has jumped right into the fast-paced world of construction—and quickly made an impact. As she prepares to graduate with degrees in marketing and management and continue her education in construction management at the University of Minnesota, her passion for learning and teamwork is already setting a strong foundation for her future.

“Positive, encouraging, and awesome”—that’s how Cate describes her experience so far, and a reflection of the culture we’re proud to build every day.
