This week marks the beginning of 2023’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase, an annual event benefiting the San Francisco University High School financial aid program. This year’s home is 625 El Camino Del Mar, a 1927 Spanish-style stunner located in the tony neighborhood of Sea Cliff.

Once a year, a luxury home opens up to the public to view not only a stunning property...

"When 2590 Union St. was built in 1899, it was bucking the main building trend in San Francisco at the time. Its design is the work of architect Newton J. Tharp, and its clean stately lines and unembellished shingle exterior exemplify Tharp’s decidedly anti-Victorian aesthetic."

TOMORROW is Parkinson's Moving Day! Follow the Link to Help Me Reach My Goal.

I am once again participating in the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day on May 6th, 2023. Moving Day isn’t just about the walk—it’s a celebration of movement. Moving Day gives hope to millions around the globe afflicted with Parkinson’s by offering methods of movement such as yoga, boxing, dancing, so much more that helps improve their quality of life.

I participate because my younger brother is afflicted with this punishing disease. He has lost his independence, much of his mobility, his ability to work, most of his youth, and so much more. But he has never lost his hope and never his persistent spirit to live life to the fullest. He and his joy inspire and remind me how grateful each and everyone of one should be.
That’s why I make it a priority to help heighten consciousness about the disease and raise money for the development of treatments and research to vanquish this cruel disease. People with Parkinson’s need and deserve our help. They need our compassion.

By sponsoring my team Movers and Shakers and me, your donations will help find a cure, but also fund research for treatments that alleviate the cruel symptoms of Parkinson’s that people like my brother endure every hour of the day. Please join me in making an enormous difference in the lives of millions suffering with this neurological disorder. It will mean the world to those touched with the disease, and it will mean the world to my brother and me.

"San Francisco has a tall task ahead of it: 82,000 homes by 2031. And now, The City is staring down a tall solution — just one of what will need to be many like it.

CH Planning LLC, a developer based out of Nevada with a portfolio of skyscrapers in the region, has proposed a 589-foot tall, 50 story, mixed-use structure overlooking the Pacific. Yeah, you read that right: 50 stories on The City’s west side." - San Francisco Examiner:

But, as goes building in San Francisco, the project is not without controversy.

This is a fascinating first-pass report on converting downtown office buildings into residential units from SPUR:

Downtown San Francisco’s post-pandemic recovery is hindered by a lack of economic diversity and a shortage of workforce housing. Could converting vacant office space to residential use be a financially viable solution to both problems? In a first-of-its-kind study in San Francisco, SPUR, ULI San F...

"Rising mortgage rates, engineered in part by the Federal Reserve, have a lot to do with these declines. Buyers reduce their offers to account for higher interest costs, and would-be sellers keep their homes off the market rather than give up the low-interest mortgages they locked in during the Fed’s easy-money era."

Somewhere, Jerome Powell is smiling. The median home sale price declined 3.3 percent annually in March, according to the latest housing report from Redfin. The decline was the largest recorded by the brokerage since it began tracking the data in 2012, and only the second year-over-year drop — the ...
