⚓ Wise words from The Captain...
"A little real talk about real estate..."
Every now and then I see a new real estate agent get discouraged, jump brokerages, or walk away from the business after just a few months...and honestly, I understand why.
Real estate can look easy from the outside. Flexible schedule, big commission checks, lake days between closings...sounds pretty good, right?
But the truth is, this business takes time to build momentum.
Most successful agents didn’t hit the ground closing million-dollar deals in their first 90 days. They built relationships. Learned the market. Made mistakes. Got coached. Stayed consistent. And most importantly...they stayed in the game long enough to grow roots.
I think a lot of agents quit right before things start clicking.
It’s kind of like planting a garden and digging it back up every couple weeks because you don’t see tomatoes yet. Meanwhile underneath the surface, growth is already happening.
Now sure...sometimes a brokerage truly isn’t the right fit. That happens. But success usually comes from finding a place where you can learn, ask questions, get guidance, and actually have support while building your business.
That’s something we’ve always believed in at Lake Life Realty.
From mentoring and marketing help to leads, walk-in traffic, local exposure, and just having people around you willing to answer the phone when you’re trying to figure things out...those things matter, especially early on.
This career can absolutely change your life.
But it usually doesn’t happen overnight.
The agents who make it are rarely the loudest. They’re usually the ones who stayed steady when everyone else got impatient.
And somewhere along the way...
those small daily efforts start turning into a real business.
That’s when the fun begins.
Always happy to talk real estate with anyone getting into the business or making a move.
