For Bob Dixon, becoming a Community Champion for Isabel’s House has a pretty special full-circle connection.

Years ago, while serving in the Missouri Senate, Bob worked to renew legislation originally developed by Sen. Norma Champion to support organizations serving children in crisis—including crisis nurseries like Isabel’s House.

During that process, the program received a new name: the Champion for Children Tax Credit.

Today, Isabel’s House continues to benefit from that tax credit. And now, years later, Bob has been asked to serve as a Community Champion himself.

As Bob puts it, it’s “sort of full circle”—and an opportunity to continue supporting children and families in our community.

Another week of making magical memories at Isabel's House💙

This week at Isabel's House was full of exploring, creating, and plenty of laughter. The kiddos wandered through the Japanese Stroll Garden, met some new animal friends at Dickerson Park Zoo, headed to the park, and enjoyed some music therapy right here at the House.

Back home, the adventures kept going! We made homemade peach popsicles, chased bubbles, created a kids-sized car wash, "put out" imaginary chalk-drawn fires around the playground as firefighters, and got crafty with some bubble-foam sensory play. 🫧🚒🍦

These moments may look like simple childhood fun, and that's exactly what makes them so special. For children experiencing a difficult or uncertain season, having a safe place to play, explore, learn, and laugh can bring stability and comfort when they need it most.

At Isabel's House, crisis care is about more than providing a safe place to stay. It's about making sure childhood doesn't have to stop when children and families experience crisis. And our supporters, like you, are what allow these memories to be made at Isabel's House. 🦋💙

👶 Diapers and Pullups: We are in need of size 7 diapers, size 4t/5t and size 5t/6t pull ups! We have many children in our house using diapers, as well as families who come to our community bank in need of diapers!

🍼 Baby Formula: We often have infants in our care, but we also have families who look to us for support in childcare resources! We would prefer Similac Advanced, Similac 360, or Enfamil Baby Formula.
