This is Gilbert’s Bar—an isthmus, which is just a narrow strip of land between two larger bodies of water. And here, you really feel it: water on both sides, history all around, and that quiet “old Florida” atmosphere that’s getting harder to find.

Right nearby is the House of Refuge Museum, one of the most unique and nostalgic spots on the Treasure Coast. 🌴 Bathtub Beach is one of the Treasure Coast’s true gems! 🌊☀️

Located on South Hutchinson Island just north of Sailfish Point, Bathtub Beach is famous for its calm, crystal-clear waters and natural reef that creates the perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. During the summer, the Gulf Stream brings in incredibly warm water that feels just like bathwater!

One of my favorite things to do here is take the scenic walk south toward the tip of the island, where you'll find peaceful stretches of beach and incredible views. And if you're into kayaking or paddleboarding, there's an easy launch area right across the street with some of the most beautiful water you'll find anywhere on the Treasure Coast.
