Florida is the #1 net inbound migration state in 2026 — and people are noticing Tallahassee. 🌴
Here's where they're coming from:
The biggest group? Other Floridians. Miami, Orlando, and Tampa residents are done with the traffic, the noise, and the cost — and they're discovering that Tallahassee gives them everything they left behind, without everything they wanted to escape.
Right behind them — the Northeast. New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. High taxes, high cost of living, and a long winter will do that to you.
Then California. Especially remote workers. Big West Coast salary + no Florida state income tax + an actual house instead of a studio apartment = the math makes the decision for them.
And don't sleep on the Southeast movers — Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina are all sending people this way too. Close enough to visit family. Far enough to actually build something.
One honest note: migration into Florida has slowed since the pandemic peak — movers in 2026 are more price-sensitive and more regional. But Tallahassee is still growing. And for buyers who do their homework and move with a local expert, the opportunity is very real.
If you're relocating — or you're in Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, or anywhere else thinking about making a move — I'd love to help you figure out if Tallahassee makes sense for your life.
