Well, summer officially handed over the reins and FALL HAS ARRIVED at Buckeye Lake! 🍁⚓️ But don’t start winterizing everything just yet! 😂 Some of the best days on the lake happen this time of year, cooler temperatures, quieter water, gorgeous sunsets, football Saturdays, bonfires, live music and maybe swapping that frozen drink for something with a little pumpkin or apple in it. 🍎🍻🔥

Before we get into this week’s happenings, I also want to continue sending our thoughts and prayers to the family of Stan Knox. Stan’s loss is still being felt throughout our Buckeye Lake community, and I know so many are missing that familiar face or that familiar phone call. Please continue to keep his family and loved ones in your prayers as they navigate the days ahead. 🙏❤️

This week, before we get into everything happening around Buckeye Lake, I want to take a moment to recognize two losses that are weighing heavily on our lake community.

🙏 My thoughts and prayers are with the Knox family as they navigate the immeasurable loss of Stan. Big Stan was a familiar face to so many of us, and his presence will be greatly missed. Sending love, comfort, strength and prayers to his family and everyone who knew and loved him. ❤️

🙏 I also want to send prayers to the family, friends and bandmates of Shawn Purden of Hott Lucy as they mourn the loss of their friend. ❤️

Weeks like this are a reminder that Life On The Lake is about so much more than boats, bands, bars and beautiful sunsets. It’s about the people. It’s about friendships, familiar faces, supporting one another and being part of a community that comes together during both the best and the hardest times.

As we move into another week and continue the end-of-summer wind-down, I hope everyone gets out, supports our local businesses and musicians, enjoys some time with the people they love and maybe holds them just a little tighter. ❤️

And just like that, Labor Day is behind us and we’re starting that end-of-summer wind-down at Buckeye Lake. The crowds may start getting smaller and the days a little shorter, but some of the BEST lake days are still ahead. As summer begins to wind down, let's keep showing up for the businesses, musicians, friends and neighbors who make this little lake community so special.

The calendar may be creeping toward the end of August, but summer at Buckeye Lake is NOT over yet! There are still sunsets to chase, bands to hear, patios to visit, boat rides to take and plenty of good times waiting around the lake. 🍹🎶⚓ So grab your people, make some plans and get out there because these are the lake days we’re going to be wishing for a few months from now! ❤️

Welllll. . . Mother Nature apparently has some different plans for us this week. ☔️😂 It may be looking like a rainy week around Buckeye Lake, but around here we know a little rain or a lot doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!

When the clouds roll in, trade the boat for a barstool, grab some good food, catch some live music or find a covered patio and wait it out with a cold drink. 🍹🎶 And hey, if the sun decides to make an appearance, consider it a bonus!
