"Mortgage rates are still moving around, but they’ve remained in a fairly tight range lately. As of today, Freddie Mac reported the average 30-year fixed rate at 6.37% and the 15-year fixed at 5.72%..

It's been 40 years since former Capitol Records rep, Alexis Kelley, used to come into the Record Bar record store I managed in Charlotte, NC, to promote her label's bands. She and her husband, Mark (also a former record industry pro,), now live in Atlanta and came down with some friends to check out the Venice area for a possible future move. I was happy to put my real estate hat on and show them around.

From our friends at Guaranteed Rate Affinity: Rates have moved higher since Feb 28 because the bond market repriced: Treasury yields rose and mortgage-backed securities needed higher yields to attract investors, which flows through to mortgage pricing. Inflation expectations and a “higher for longer” Fed outlook have been the main contributors.
