This Worthington landmark has been standing for 160+ years ➡️

Built in 1861, this was originally the home of Horace W. Wright and his wife, Henrietta.

Horace came from an important manufacturing family and operated the Worthington Sawmill on the property, providing important building materials for the growing community.

The Wrights occupied the home for 79 years. In 1940, the property was acquired by Sharon Township to be used as a war memorial. It became known as Sharon Memorial Hall and was briefly home to the Worthington Historical Society in the 1950s and ‘60s.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The home is significant for its early Victorian architecture, most notably its distinctive stone entryway. It retains many of its original features, including its fireplaces, marble mantels, and large staircase.

Due to positive west nile detection, Franklin County Public Health plans to spray neighborhoods in Sharon Township South and Perry/Sharon Township North on Monday Sept 14, starting at 8:30pm

With our Roads Superintendent Tom Kayati planning to retire at the end of the year, the trustees voted to promote Marcus Rose to Roads Superintendent last evening. Tom will continue for the next few months in an emeritus Roads Superintendent position while he continues to train and transition projects to Marcus and the team.

Tom has been a dedicated and loyal 47 year employee with the township, much of it in his senior leadership role. The department will be in great hands and we are happy that Marcus is going to carry on the tradition of service to our community, the cemeteries and care for the residents we serve.

Please congratulate Marcus, thank Tom and the crew for their many years of exceptional work.
