ADA Compliance Deadlines You Need to Know

As an attorney specializing in accessibility, I often emphasize the critical importance of adhering to key dates in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance timeline. Understanding these dates is essential for businesses and organizations to fulfill their legal obligations and foster inclusivity for individuals with disabilities. THERE IS NO GRANDFATHER CLAUSE!

Important ADA Compliance Dates to Remember

1. If your public accommodation was constructed before September 15, 2010, you must comply with the 1991 ADA Standards subject to certain exclusions;

2. If your public accommodation was constructed on or after September 15, 2010, and before March 15, 2012, you must comply with either the 1991 ADA Standards or the 2010 ADA Standards;

3. If your public accommodation was constructed on or after March 15, 2012, you must comply with the 2010 ADA Standards.

Why Compliance Dates Matter

Staying informed about these compliance dates is crucial for businesses for several reasons:

- Expert Guidance: As an experienced attorney in this field, I can assist organizations in navigating the complexities of the ADA, ensuring they remain compliant and inclusive.
