She has worked in many differing industries throughout the years. She worked underwriting mortgages in the 1990’s and loved helping homeowners with refinancing options. She started an eBay power seller storefront and sold antiques and collectibles across the world for 8 years. She also enjoyed traveling the nation for antique shows and interacting with collectors of all types. She enrolled at Gran
d Valley State University and completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship. She was awarded a Student Summer Scholarship to complete grant funded research and presented her research findings at many campus forums. She also presented her research at New York State University’s School of Business and at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Nikki has also studied Ornamental Horticulture and took those skills to create a garden renovation business. She has created new gardens, performed garden renovations and specialized in curb appeal gardening. She spent four years in the Frederick Maryland area and worked for a Federal Credit Union connecting with auto/rv/motorcycle dealerships in a four-state radius. She and her son spent many weekends hiking and exploring the history of the area. Returning to Michigan she continued to connect with statewide area auto dealerships to help them with financing loans for consumers. She then began selling automobiles in Spring Lake which helped her fine tune her customer service skills and meet her customers’ needs. She excelled in connecting with her customers and helping them to find the perfect vehicle at the best possible financing terms. She is now starting her real estate career with the same mindset of customer satisfaction. Nikki is a member of the Sault St Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and loves her time in the Upper Peninsula. She explores the lake shore and forested areas collecting beach glass, driftwood and other natural elements that she uses to create art pieces. Nikki loves her home garden and the generational plants that she has gathered from family members and foraging throughout the years. Weekends are spent watching her young grandsons play soccer or baseball. Frequent trips to the lake shore are also a favorite activity. Nikki is looking forward to taking her past skills in customer service to a whole new level with her real estate career. Please feel free to reach out to her with any questions you may have regarding your real estate needs. Nikki Powers- 301-305-7125
