UPDATE on Fort McMurray fire: 5-16-24 3:50pm
1. 4 subdivisions are evacuated, not the whole city
2. it's raining
3. the big fire south of town is no done yet.
4. the fire north of town is under control
5. there is a fire ban
6. there is a ban on OHV use: meaning NO quad, atv or dirt bike use
7. rain is forecasted for the weekend and cooler temperatures
8. wind has calmed down.
9. there is a date they think evacuees can come back next week: those in those impacted areas, be sure to verify when that confirmed date is.
10. we golfed last night and it felt normal, even though it isn't 100% yet

Paul Innes and I appreciate the checking in with us messages.
We are keeping our vehicles gassed up and we are mostly packed to go if we need to.

My advice to you is this reminder! Put in your calendar right now a time/date to take photos/video of everything in your home. Imagine if you had to replace everything in your home.... like your spice rack for example. Including inside your fridge and freezer.

The alert in Beacon Hill, Abasand, Grayling Terrace & Prairie Creek has gone to a 2 hour possible notice alert. This is not official evacuation notice. Please listen to the radio or go to the RMWB pages.

Please print off this pdf or screen shot it.
If you do nothing else take photos of everything you have! You will need proof if you have a loss with insurance.

Please stay calm, breathe and have a plan.
