Sometimes when buyer are house hunting, conversations starts flowing and deep conversations start to build relationships..
The other day, while I was with a client, they asked me a simple question:
“Rana, Does your job bring you happiness?”
I paused for a moment because I’m someone who tries to live with intention. I don’t like giving automatic answers.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that happiness isn’t what I chase every day.
I’m someone who values peace. I choose gratitude, even when life isn’t perfect. And I’ve learned to be deeply satisfied with what I have while still working toward what I want.
So my answer was this:
My work doesn’t have to make me happy every single day. Some days are stressful. Some days are exhausting. But what it does give me is purpose. It allows me to serve people during important moments in their lives, build meaningful relationships, and create a life that aligns with my values.
For me, happiness comes and goes. Peace is something I choose. Gratitude is something I practice. And satisfaction comes from knowing I’m living intentionally.
I think that’s a much stronger foundation than chasing happiness alone.
So my question to whoever is reading this.. if you were asked that question, how would you answer that?
