🧹Fall residential street sweeping begins Monday, October 5.

Crews will move through neighbourhoods according to a planned schedule from October 5 to 19, weather and operational conditions permitting.

Fall sweeping removes leaves, sand and other debris from residential roads and helps reduce material that can collect around catch basins and enter the drainage system.

Residents can help crews complete a more thorough sweep by moving vehicles off the street from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. when sweepers are working in their area.

Demolition work begins tomorrow at the former farmers market building, which was extensively damaged by fire in November 2025.

The laneway between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue will operate as one-way traffic while work is underway, with increased large truck traffic expected in the area. Drivers should follow posted signage and use caution around trucks entering and leaving the site.

Demolition may take up to three weeks. Work is permitted between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Pedestrian access around the site will remain available, and no public parking will be affected.

For many residents, this is a familiar building connected to years of community activity and memories. As the site begins to change, we recognize the significance it holds for many in the community. 💛
