What a kickoff to Oktoberfest 2026! 🍻

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends, and that you are ready to ring in the festival with us. It is only just getting started.

For the Polocorp team, the opening days have been a joy. From the Loft Haus Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest breakfast at the Walper Hotel, to the keg tapping at City of Kitchener City Hall, to the Oktoberfest President's Luncheon at Concordia Club, it has been wonderful to be part of the festivities and to celebrate alongside the people who make this region so special.

Wilfrid Laurier University's Capstone Urban Sustainability Project, CUSP, gives Geography and Environmental Studies students real urban planning experience working with the City of Cambridge.

Students act as planning consultants, responding to requests for proposals from the City of Cambridge. Now in its eleventh year, CUSP is a three-way partnership between Laurier, the City of Cambridge, and Polocorp. This year's theme was GALT 2075. The development backlog in Waterloo Region is clearing. Months of work on water capacity, by the building industry, municipal leaders, and the Region's water team, are showing up as real progress.

This effort has always been about homes for families, jobs for skilled trades, and confidence in the region's future. There is still work to do, but the cooperation that got us here is the reason to keep going.
