At the beginning of the summer, I ask my team to slow down to the speed of joy.

Now here we are in the last week of summer and I’m sitting on a beach in Turks and Caicos, so I figured I should probably practice what I preach.

I’m not very good at completely shutting off, and I’m not sure I ever will be. I still answered the calls, returned the emails and even sold a house from this beach, although admittedly my response time has been a little more on island time.

I’ve always been wired to think about the next deal, the next goal and what needs to get done tomorrow. This summer I’ve tried to spend a little more time appreciating what’s already right in front of me.

The business didn’t stop because I slowed down a little and neither did life.

One week of summer left. I’m going to enjoy it and I hope you do too!

Work hard.
Be kind.
Repeat. 💙

I go back to this quote every once in a while.

Mostly because when you’re in the middle of building something, it rarely looks the way you imagined it would. There are setbacks. Detours. Moments where you question whether you’re even heading in the right direction. Then one day you look around and realize some of the things you once hoped for, worked for, and probably stressed way too much about have quietly become your life.

The funny thing about trusting the process is you usually don’t realize it was working until you’re already standing in the result.

Keep going and trust the process.

One last family vacation before Juliana heads off to university. Turks & Caicos was where she wanted to go. Not sure I’m ready for this next chapter, but here we go. ❤️🌴

A little bit about me.

After 6 months in a refugee camp in Malaysia, my family was sponsored by a church in Kitchener in 1979. This is where I grew up, and where I lived until I was 24.

After finishing school, I moved to Toronto, entered the corporate world and spent the next 15 years travelling the world. I had a blast, built a career, met some incredible people and collected a lot of stories along the way. Eventually, life brought me back to Waterloo Region, where I decided to start over and build a real estate business from the ground up.

Coming home has turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, both for me and my family. There’s something pretty special about now helping people find a place to call home in the same community that gave my family ours. 💙

4 years ago today, Steph joined TN Real Estate Group - Waterloo Region

She started with us as an admin, somehow survived working with me, and somewhere along the way decided being a Realtor sounded like a good idea too. A lot has happened around here since then. Some good, some stressful, and some things we probably shouldn’t put in an Instagram post. But what’s been really cool for me is watching what she has done with those 4 years.

She went from being our admin, to getting her real estate licence, to becoming a really damn good Realtor and building a successful business of her own.

Not bad for someone we originally hired to keep the rest of us organized.

Here’s to the next 4 years. 🥂💙

Instagram rebranded, so obviously we had to try it. Looks great, unfortunately, anyone under 25 just asked what it says. Kids these days can’t read cursive.

We’re keeping the old logo. 😂

Hopping on this trend so you can get to know the people behind the TN Real Estate Group - Waterloo Region a little better 😂

Apparently, you can learn a lot about someone from their bedtime, browser tabs, coffee order, and what’s permanently living in their car.

Swipe through and judge us accordingly.

I still think I’m 25. My body wakes up every morning to remind me I’m a whole lot closer to 50. Kind of like real estate. We can all believe whatever we want, but the market has a funny way of reminding us what reality looks like.
