Today, September 30, is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a day to remember the children who never returned home, honour Survivors and their families, and reflect on the ongoing impacts of the residential school system.
Meaningful reconciliation starts with listening, learning and acknowledging the truth. Today, we encourage our downtown community to take time to learn, reflect and consider how we can continue the work of reconciliation in our community.
Visit london.ca/national-day-truth-reconciliation to learn more about the legacy of residential schools and find local events and opportunities to participate.
The Downtown London office is closed today in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
