The First Home Savings Account (FHSA) is a registered plan that helps first-time homebuyers save for their first property by combining the tax advantages of an RRSP and a TFSA. You can contribute up to $8,000 annually (to a $40,000 lifetime limit) with tax-deductible contributions that reduce your taxable income. Most importantly, all your investment growth and subsequent withdrawals used to purchase a qualifying home are completely tax-free.

I recently had the opportunity of touring a custom home under construction in the Bridle Path - some of the highlights include a 10+ car underground parking, 30,000+ square foot of living space and 10+ furnaces to heat up the home. Estimated construction cost was understood to be approximately $50M!
