The North Shore can be defined by, but is not limited to, its cascading mountains that envelop the District of West Vancouver, and the District and City of North Vancouver. There is a crossover in the late spring where snow still caps the mountains, while the temperature by the water has risen to a comfortable breeze. Where else in the world do you get the opportunity to have a couple runs of your
pick on Grouse, Cypress, or Seymour, only to head down to the shoreline and spend the afternoon wind surfing in the Burrard Inlet against a beautiful backdrop? I was born and raised throughout South Africa until the age of twelve, and would have never imagined such a place could exist. After moving from a beautiful Country, to another, we spent a few years in Ontario when my father, then a Commercial Pilot, relocated my family to Vancouver, and I've refused to move ever since. Over the years I have enjoyed working in our vibrant City as a Legal Secretary, making sure every client was well looked after and then travelling the world as a Flight Attendant; exploring and taking-in other cultures first-hand. It was difficult to equate the higher level of diversification found in Vancouver to other cities, so I decided the North Shore will always be my home. I have proudly lived here since 1992 and, 9 years ago began a new direction as a Real Estate Agent where I am constantly learning even more about our beautiful surroundings! I find it easy to qualify myself as a highly active person, having grown-up horseback riding and rollerblading through the Seymour Demonstration trails, playing tennis on our many courts and snowboarding on our local mountains. The North Shore is an opportunity waiting to happen for the health conscious with all things organic, or perhaps for the family oriented with all things recreational. There are quaint hideaways such as Deep Cove and Edgemont Village, and charming seaside retreats such as Dundarave Village and Horseshoe Bay; as well as a growing vibrancy culminating in Lower Lonsdale, the home of the ever-popular Lonsdale Quay. With new large-scale developments rising across the city and contemporary spots emerging, it's only a matter of time before this area garners attention away from popular neighbourhoods such as Kitsilano. I consider myself lucky to live in a place that embraces people of various cultures and creed, having immigrated here myself. There are plenty of unique communities throughout the North Shore, so everyone can find a place to call their own. Home buying and selling is not just putting a roof over one's head, but investing in the livelihood of family, friends, and neighbours alike.
