They were told they didn’t make enough to buy a home.
They were told to get better paying jobs, wait 6 months, and try again later.
And honestly? They were discouraged.
We had already started looking at homes together and when it came time to write an offer and get final approval, they felt like their dream of homeownership was slipping away before it even started.
But here’s the thing I always tell my clients: one “no” doesn’t mean the end of the road.
I encouraged them to speak with another lender I trusted. Someone who would actually look at the full picture and help create a plan instead of shutting the door completely.
Within 3 months of that first conversation, they wrote an offer, got accepted, and moved into their very first home. 🏡✨
Sometimes it’s not about whether homeownership is possible.
Sometimes it’s about having the right people in your corner.
The right realtor.
The right lender.
The right strategy.
If you’ve been told “not yet,” don’t give up after one conversation. There may be another path forward you just haven’t been shown yet.

One of the biggest misconceptions in real estate is that you should spend the maximum amount you’re approved for. But the truth is, your comfort matters just as much as your qualification.
A home should support your lifestyle, not stress it.
