Cool!

Over the past week, residents may have noticed sections of floating dock appearing and being assembled at East Riverside Kingshurst Park. Those dock sections were originally purchased by the Town following the unprecedented flooding events of 2018 and 2019, when there was concern that residents in flood-affected neighbourhoods could require temporary access routes across flooded streets and low-lying areas.

Fortunately, the community has not experienced flooding of that magnitude in recent years, and the dock sections have remained in storage since their purchase. Rather than leaving the docks unused, the Town is now repurposing the sections to create a floating walkway trail at East Riverside Kingshurst Park.

The walkway will consist of the dock sections connected together in a continuous string and fitted with safety railings to improve accessibility and user safety. Once complete, the floating trail will provide residents and visitors with a unique recreational feature on the Kennebecasis River that enhances access to the park and waterfront while making productive use of infrastructure originally acquired for emergency preparedness purposes.

More updates will be shared as the project progresses.

Announcing our Wander & Wonder Walks!

Every Tuesday from June - September, we're having relaxed, slow-paced walks with plenty of time to stop, observe, and enjoy nature along the way. All are welcome, no registration needed. Walks are from 6:30-8:00PM.

We’ll meet at the parking area by the trailhead, just past the barn. We’ll be following the same trail in and out, making it an easy route for all experience levels.

Wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather. Feel free to bring binoculars, cameras, or anything else you enjoy using outdoors.

I’ve seen Saint John homeowners spend $40K on a kitchen remodel and wonder why they didn’t make it back at closing.

Saint John Area home buyers: we stopped chasing the “perfect” listing and still got the view. 👀

These buyers came to me from a past-client referral, and they were doing everything “right” - solid budget, clear needs, strong offers… and still losing out in a tough sellers market.

After a few near-misses (including offers that were pushing way higher than they should’ve), we hit pause and re-strategized. Instead of competing on the most popular, move-in-ready homes, we started looking for the ones other buyers were skipping - homes that needed a bit of work, but not a full overhaul.

That’s where the opportunity was. ✨

We found a place on the outskirts of Saint John that had been overlooked. With a little love and sweat equity, it checked more boxes than the homes we’d been fighting over - more space, a garage, and a St. John River view… and we secured it under asking with no competition. 🙌💃
