A Facebook friendship. Thirty years. One message.

Sometimes life has a funny way of bringing people back together.

More than three decades had passed since Sabrina and I had truly crossed paths. Other than the occasional Facebook post, we hadn’t really kept in touch.

Then one day, a message popped into my inbox.

“Would you sell our home?”

Of course, my answer was yes.

Their home was nestled in a beautiful coastal community…one of those hidden gems where buyers don’t always stumble upon listings quickly. In fact, homes there often sit on the market for close to 60 days.

So we knew we couldn’t just list it.

We needed a strategy.

Together, we prepared the home to shine. We carefully staged each space, brought in professional photography and videography, and made sure buyers didn’t just see a house. We wanted them to experience the incredible lifestyle, breathtaking coastline, and everything that makes the area so special.

Seven days later…

ACCEPTED OFFER.

And LAST WEEK, it was officially closing day.

If these walls could talk, they’d have an entire lifetime of stories to tell.

Fifty-two years.

How do you even begin to pack up a lifetime lived in one home?

These walls watched babies come home for the very first time.

They heard first words and saw first steps. They watched little ones head off for their first day of school, make their first friends, and grow into teenagers whose friends knew they could walk through the door and feel at home, too.

They held birthday parties and sleepovers. Christmas mornings and Sunday dinners. Laughter from rooms overflowing with family …and probably a few slammed doors along the way.

They watched children grow up, leave home and eventually come back through that same door carrying babies of their own.

First babies became first grandbabies.

There were beloved pets whose paws once ran across these floors. Family celebrations. Quiet evenings. Hard days. Wonderful days. Ordinary days that no one realized at the time would someday become the memories they treasured most.

Because that’s the thing about a home.

We think we’re simply living our lives inside of it, until one day we look back and realize the home was quietly holding our story the entire time.

For 52 years, this Quispamsis home belonged to one family.

So when it came time to sell their longtime family home, I knew this couldn’t feel like just another real estate transaction.
