TRREB Releases AUGUST 2026 Market Stats

In August 2026 listings in the GTA were down noticeably compared to last year. Home sales also edged lower, as the number of transactions was limited by less choice in some neighbourhoods.

If inventory tightens and home prices begin to rise, some buyers may face a trade-off between waiting for greater economic certainty and purchasing before prices move higher. At the same time, improving market conditions for sellers could bring more listings to market, providing buyers with additional choice.

TRREB Releases JULY 2026 Market Stats

Greater Toronto Area (GTA) resale housing market conditions tightened in July compared to the same month a year earlier. Home sales edged slightly lower over that period, while new listings were down substantially. If current trends continue, home prices could start to level off compared to last year.

Recent news has been more positive than expected. The latest readings on economic growth and jobs surprised to the upside.

💥MARKET TIGHTENING💥

TRREB Releases JUNE 2026 Market Stats

Greater Toronto Area (GTA) housing market conditions continued to improve in June, with sales growing quite strongly year-over-year while new listings declined over the same period.

We saw a marked improvement in home sales in the second quarter of this year. While the average selling price was still down year-over-year in June, the annual rate of decline has receded over the past few months.
