We’re pleased to share that Derek Hansom of Seven Generations Capital will join an inspiring group of cross-sector leaders as a panelist for SOCAP26’s Virtual Opening Webinar, featuring the session “Pathways to Shared Prosperity” in the weeks leading up to the SOCAP event in October.

The conversation will explore how investment, policy, and inclusive approaches to work, ownership, and economic participation can create greater opportunity and stronger, more resilient communities. Derek will be joined by David Bank (ImpactAlpha), David Kenney (Project Equity), Morgan Simon (Candide Group), and John Holdsclaw IV (Rochdale Capital).

We look forward to Derek contributing to this important conversation and helping kick off the dialogue ahead of SOCAP26 in October.

We are pleased to announce a significant milestone: Hungerford Properties has officially launched the Seven Generations Growth Fund, with $75 million CAD in committed equity capital to date. Operating under the Seven Generations Capital brand, the Fund has the full backing of the Hungerford Properties platform.

The Seven Generations Growth Fund is purpose-built to bridge the gap between institutional capital and Indigenous land partnerships. By leveraging decades of institutional real estate experience, the Fund will focus on developing thousands of housing units, mixed-use projects, and light industrial developments across Canada’s major urban centers.

A prime example of this strategy in motion is our səkʷíw project. In a joint venture partnership with Ntityix Development Corporation, this development will bring much-needed additional housing units to the region. True partnership extends to how we build. With a strong commitment to Indigenous procurement, we are working alongside Kilawna Builders as our general contractor to ensure local economic impact and representation at every stage of construction.

Thank you to our early partners and investors, including Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Victoria Foundation, and Boann (funded by the Government of Canada's Social Finance Fund) for sharing this vision with us.

We are thrilled to announce that our partner, Michael Hungerford, and our Director of Indigenous Business Strategies and Relationships, Derek Hansom will be speaking at the upcoming Indigenous IMPACT breakout session this Wednesday, May 27th at H.R. MacMillian Space Centre in Vancouver.

A profound shift is underway. A new Indigenous economy is emerging—one where capital, development expertise, and governance are seamlessly aligned with culture and long-term vision. This session explores how Indigenous Nations are moving from participation in projects to true ownership and leadership, reshaping economic systems in the process. During the session, Michael and Derek will share how Seven Generations Capital combines capital with real estate development and ex*****on capability to unlock new pathways for equity participation, governance strength, and intergenerational wealth.

Stay tuned for updates from the session as we continue to support pathways toward economic self-determination and community equity.

Thank you to Westbank First Nation and Ntityix Development Corporation for hosting us at this past weekend’s job fair. It was a privilege to connect with WFN members and NDC staff and share the long-term vision for Seven Generations Capital’s projects on WFN lands.

We believe that true partnership starts with being present and listening, so we were there to:
✅ Show our progress and keep the community updated on project timelines.
✅ Open the door for future procurement and business opportunities.
✅ Create space for member input—your voice helps shape the work we do!

The future of these projects is bright, and we want to ensure the community is at the forefront of that growth. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by our table to chat!

Help us amplify the path to economic reconciliation!

We are thrilled to announce that our proposed session, "From Benefit Sharing to Ownership: Building Indigenous and Community Equity Partnerships," is up for selection at SOCAP Open 2026 ()

At Seven Generations Capital, we believe that economic reconciliation is built on the foundation of self-determination. Our session explores a critical shift in real estate: creating structures where Indigenous Nations are not just participants, but co-owners and leaders of their economic futures.

We need your help to bring this conversation to the global stage - community voting is a key factor in the selection process. Please take 30 seconds to cast your vote for our session before April 26.
