When you live in cohousing, you own your own home with your own kitchen -- so what's the point of a shared kitchen?

Thanks to the kind folks at Cranberry Commons in Burnaby, BC, here's an insider's view of the kinds of common spaces you can expect to find in cohousing!
🌳 Shared green areas (see if you can spot the treehouse and the kitchen garden as well as the patio tables!)
📚 A common house for music, reading and relaxing with others
🍪 And, a community kitchen where neighbours can cook together when they want to (this week, Cranberry Commons used this space to process their grape harvest, host a baby shower, and enjoy a community potluck!) And guests staying at Cranberry Commons can use the common fridge to store food.

Having more space in a common areas lets neighbours gather together easily, and enjoy time together. At Esquimalt Village Cohousing, we're planning to include common areas like a community kitchen, shared gardens, and a rooftop terrace. What would you use common space like this for?

Picked up this gorgeous bouquet from the Esquimalt Farmers Market last night! They are from Esquimalt Flowers. Sunflowers are our favourite!🌻
