We look at a lot of villas every day, so which ones actually make it onto our own Wishlists? 👀

We asked a few of the teams who know our collection inside out to choose where they’d most like to stay in 2027.

The result: Provence vineyards, Lanzarote sunshine, the Sicilian countryside, sea views in Crete and a classic Algarve escape in the heart of the Golden Triangle.

Swipe to see what made the cut – then tell us, which one are you saving?

Planning a retreat? Your setting can make all the difference. 🌿

Many of our larger homes offer far more than somewhere to stay, with the space, privacy and facilities to bring a whole group together under one roof – whether you’re planning a wellness weekend, creative retreat or something entirely your own.

Villa Jolivet in the South of France is a rather brilliant example. Set across 40,000 square metres of private countryside, this restored 600-year-old farmhouse sleeps 19, with a huge pool, tennis and pétanque courts, a gym, cinema room, library and plenty of space to gather (or disappear for an hour).

Jennifer, founder of The Medium Experience and The Experience Retreats, recently chose Villa Jolivet for one of her female-only spiritual retreats – designed around real transformation, without sacrificing a taste for luxury. We absolutely loved seeing the home brought to life.

Consider this slight drop in temperature your sign to start thinking about Christmas in the mountains… 🎄⛷️

Snow outside, a fire going, everyone under one roof, and the very real possibility of spending Christmas morning on skis. Or New Year’s Eve somewhere in the Alps with Champagne already on ice.

From Megève and Courchevel to Chamonix, Morzine and Val d’Isère, we've been eyeing up the chalets and mountain homes we’d happily disappear to this winter.

A 150-year-old Victorian water tower. On the Sandringham Estate. For two. 👀

Meet our rather extraordinary new arrival: The Water Tower at Sandringham.

Built in 1877, this neo-Byzantine landmark has stood above the Norfolk treetops for almost 150 years – and now, for the first time, you can stay here.

And it’s certainly not your average couples’ escape.

The rooms wind upwards across four levels, from a kitchen and dining room on the ground floor to a king-size bedroom overlooking the Estate, followed by a cosy treetop living room with a working fireplace. Then comes the best bit: climb the narrow spiral staircase, and you’ll emerge inside the Tower’s original 32,000-gallon cast-iron water tank, now transformed into a secluded rooftop terrace. Expect uninterrupted 360° views across Sandringham and the Norfolk countryside. 🌳

The Tower was originally designed by Victorian engineer James Mansergh as part of a new water system for Sandringham House. He also recognised that its position offered a rather spectacular view, creating a viewing room where Royal guests once gathered during picnics. Almost 150 years later, you can look out over those same grounds.

Inside, much of that history remains: curved walls, winding staircases, historic photographs and reclaimed features from across the Estate all form part of the stay.

And The Water Tower isn’t our only rather special address here...

It joins The Folly at Sandringham and The Gardens House at Sandringham, which became part of our exclusive collection in 2025 – three completely different ways to stay within this historic Norfolk estate.

Beyond your front door? Sandringham’s gardens, parkland and walking routes, with the beaches and villages of the North Norfolk coast within easy reach.

The Water Tower at Sandringham sleeps 2 and is available exclusively through Oliver’s Travels.

Missed yesterday’s solar eclipse? We’ve got some good news: you’ve got 354 days to plan for the next one. 🌑☀️

On 2nd August 2027, a total solar eclipse will sweep across southern Spain, with parts of Andalusia experiencing several minutes of totality. And we can think of worse places to watch the sky go dark than from the terrace of your own villa…

From Marbella to Málaga, we’ve got gorgeous villas with big views, private pools, and plenty of open sky. The sort of places worth booking for the holiday alone – with a once-in-a-generation celestial event thrown in.

August in Spain books up quickly at the best of times. Consider this your very early heads-up. 👀

Edinburgh Fringe Festival is back, and these are some of our favourite places to stay in and around Edinburgh – from a country house just 10 minutes from the city centre to a coastal escape in North Berwick and even a medieval tower in the Scottish Borders. Because after a day of back-to-back shows, packed pubs and questionable flyer-based decisions, a little space from the crowds goes a long way.

Save this for your Fringe trip, and head to the blog for our full 2026 guide to what to see and where to stay

Consider this your sign to start a holiday wishlist ❤️

These are some of the villas you’ve been saving the most – from the sea views of Castillo de Arena in Spain to the Tuscan hills surrounding Villa Dania. There’s Villa Des Ocres tucked into the Provençal countryside, the centuries-old character of Villa San Michele in Puglia, and Villa Socrates, where the pool comes with the Aegean as its backdrop.

And if you’re not using Favourites yet, you’re missing a trick.

Log in to your Oliver’s Travels account and tap the ❤️ on any villa that catches your eye. You can create different collections for every trip on the horizon (or still firmly in the group chat), and add notes to remember why each villa made the cut.

Think Mum would be happy with the sleeping arrangements? Make a note of it. Know the kids will lose their minds over the pool? Add that too. Planning a big birthday? Start a collection for it.
